The girls did a wonderful job at recreating Vincent Van Gogh's famous painting 'The Starry Night'. I think we may have some budding artists in 1st class! Irin, Alisha, Rebecca and Sofia dressed for our Multicultural assembly a few weeks ago, don't they look great!
We learnt about animals in cold places such as the Arctic and the Antarctica and how these animals adapt to the freezing temperatures. Take a look at the polar bears we created! We used paint for the background and paper and markers to make the bears. Brrrrrr! Míle Buíochas to all the parents and families for coming to watch our Christmas Concert! The girls worked really hard preparing and rehearsing for the show. They sang beautifully on the day and performed so well in front of such a big audience! The girls had hot chocolate and cookies in the staffroom as a special reward for all their hard work. Well done girls! We welcomed a very special guest into our classroom before the Christmas holidays! Santa Claus came to say hello to all the good girls in Rèalt Na Mara, how exciting! Have a look at our fantastic detailed drawings of Rudolph! We followed a directed drawing video and then used oil pastels to colour them in! We decided to put our English lessons into action and have some fun with procedural writing! In class, we read about how to make Salt Dough Christmas Decorations and that’s exactly what we did! We started off by discussing the features of procedural writing while making the dough and cutting out the shapes for our decorations. Once they were baked and cooled, we then had the exciting task of decorating the decorations! The girls did a great job and the decorations looked fantastic, well done girls! We were learning all about teeth in our science lessons last week. We used mirrors to find out how many teeth we each have. We also learnt about and practiced how to brush our teeth correctly! |
