Hello again everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. Unfortunately we will now not be returning to school this week so once again you will find your daughter’s work for the week outlined below. As I mentioned previously, she should try her best to do this work but I want to reassure you that if for any reason this is not possible that is ok. Keeping safe and healthy is the main priority at the moment.
This time is a great chance for us all to slow down, spend time with our families, get outdoors, learn new things and get creative. I have been doing lots of reading and baking and going on walks and runs to stay fit. Remember to help your parents around the house and keep up your reading!
I miss you all and I’m looking forward to when we will be back in class together!

English: Starlight Combined Reading and Skills Book page 42. Read the poem ‘Waiter, There’s a Dog in My Soup’ by Kenn Nesbitt. Learn the focus words for this poem. Remember to keep ticking off the focus words on your checklists.
Complete page 43. Remember to use full sentences to answer the comprehension questions and don’t forget your capital letters and full stops.
Go to FolensOnline.ie and click ‘register’ and select ‘teacher’. Fill in a username, email, and password. For Roll Number use ‘Prim20’. Then find the Starlight resources for First Class and open ‘Combined Reader-5b Food Poems (2) and also Poster 13 ‘Funny Foods’. The poster will contain the online oral language activities that accompany the current theme being explored in the Starlight workbook. You can choose to do as many of these activities as you would like this week. Please do the grammar activity in the ‘5b Food Poems’ section on Thursday, before your child completes page 44 in her Skills book.
